been writing songs for different purposes recently. this month i have been writing one a day as an exercise as well…here is one from a few days ago titled ‘Red Leaves’. enjoy.
it is way too hot where i live to be productive. so, i’ve been in san francisco, naturally.
just finished work on a score for a mod/western short film this week (musicians are as bad with genres as the rest of them). it was a fun experiment putting some orchestral in the delta, and some delta in the orchestral. anyways, lots of fun. waiting for a link to the finished cut.
while finishing the last wave of writing for the brave citizens record i’ve also penned some other fantastic songs for other purposes. one is a ballad for a short in post-production, very sad story and well done. i’ve also been working with some great singer-songwriters as well as adding songs to the arsenal for future use by myself and other artists. writing for other purposes outside the band has been a great challenge and oddly enough extremely comfortable. looking forward to sharing that soon.

‘the alley’ - from brian depasquale in the nyu film school. two chords, hyper-minimalist. i had just purchased a ‘79 rhodes electric piano the week before…nevertheless it made its recording debut.
a great short film i was proud to be a part of last year…a break from the orchestral and journey to the snowy-cabin, voices-in-the-head realm.
converting my web space to this temp site while i keep busy…this should make my musings relatively easy to manage and post.
working on the brave citizens full-length right now…a long process but nonetheless incredibly exciting. the best of the best songs are set and the last batch is being completed simultaneously. no release date (yet), just focused on a great record.
have a couple other great things occurring as well including some arranging and scoring projects. also trying to make the leap to digital performer 7 for that, my computer loathes the software’s presence.
anyways, not a thrilling first post. i’m exhausted.
